From the very beginning, I have been incredibly fortunate to be embraced by a nurturing family. My grandparents have been a constant source of support and encouragement throughout my life, but it is my beloved grandmother, Momo, who has shaped my identity and life journey most profoundly. Living with Momo since the tender age of two has been a gift I cherish deeply. While my parents were always there, the unique love of a grandmother is unparalleled; she lavished me with much grandparental affection and guidance. Momo dedicated herself to my happiness and well-being, enveloping me in her unwavering unconditional love and support. My

Momo embodied resilience, passion, and vitality. Her deep faith and strong family values guided her every action. She radiated confidence and instilled a sense of belonging, along with a profound love for her city and country. An ethical and virtuous woman, Momo believed in honesty and integrity, always reminding me that everyone is relevant. Her humility and gratitude for life's lessons were inspiring, and she championed the importance of tough love when necessary. Everything she imparted to me, I have instilled in our children, embedding these values as the foundation of our lives.

Momo was not just my grandmother; she was our family's cheerleader. I was exceedingly fortunate that my Momo was able to  nurture our children, Preston and Bethany, as she did for me in my childhood. . Her support was a lifeline as I pursued my nursing career, where I often commuted long distances. Daily, my grandmother transported my children to and from school, oversee their extracurricular activities, prepare dinner, bathe them, and aided with their schoolwork—all before I arrived home from my three-hour journey. Her selfless dedication mirrored the care she gave me during my own childhood. Even as an adult, her love enveloped me, providing a warm dinner and a caring presence after long workdays. She also attends to my domestic responsibilities. Our weekends were sacred, filled with shared moments of joy as Momo, Bethany, Preston, and I engaged in everyday activities together, creating lasting memories  such as running errands, grocery shopping, and dining out. Truly, it is an honor to have experienced such a rich tapestry of love and connection. If granted the opportunity to redo anything, I would alter nothing. 

My profound love and commitment to our seniors stem directly from the incredible influence Momo has had on my life and my family's lives. Throughout my diverse nursing career, I have been privileged to serve in various capacities—from floor nurse to leadership roles in hospitals, home healths, assisted living facilities, memory care units, and skilled nursing facilities. None of this would have been possible without Momo's unwavering love and support. 

The most rewarding moments of my career have been devoted to geriatric care, where I have experienced profound fulfillment and satisfaction in exceeding the needs and expectations of our elderly community. With both fervor and intent, I have endeavored to lead by example, fostering a work culture that prioritizes dedicated support for our seniors. I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to enhance their well-being and ensure their security during their golden years. My commitment extends to providing our seniors with the same level of attention that we offer our own families, while preserving an environment that reflects the comforts of home.

In terms of standards and services, it is essential that our staff consistently strive to achieve positive responses from both residents and their families, and that all requests are met with an affirmative approach. Our families are assured, confident that their loved ones received exceptional care. This commitment to excellence was a standard I have upheld across all medical sectors in which I worked, driven by my profound dedication to our elderly population—individuals who have significantly contributed to our societal advancements, exemplified by remarkable figures like Momo.

As Momo began to show early signs of dementia—something my daughter Bethany recognized before I did—my heart was both heavy and enlightened. On occasions, Momo would become disoriented while shopping or driving, and occasionally uncertain who she was conversing with or contacting. She sometimes struggled to recognize those around her. Yet, even in the face of these challenges, her commitment to caring for my children remained steadfast. Her love, grace, and determination as a great-grandmother were truly remarkable, demonstrating the protective spirit of God that guided her actions keeping my grandmother and children safe from harm.

Initially, I found myself in denial, struggling to accept that my beloved grandmother was facing such a daunting disease. Understanding the stages of Alzheimer’s and the suffering it entails weighed heavily on me. I made a solemn vow to ensure that Momo would never endure pain or suffering, committing myself to provide her with the highest quality of care until my last breath. Despite my extensive nursing background, the emotional journey of caring for a family member with dementia was profoundly challenging. Nevertheless, I felt privileged to care for her as she had always cared for me, ensuring she received exceptional medical attention and emotional support.

As her illness progressed, I observed the effects not only on Momo but also on my family and on others I encountered during my nursing career. These experiences of  the good, bad, the indifferent, and the ups and downs, granted me insight and understanding, enabling me to provide compassionate support to assist my Momo, our family, and other families navigating similar emotional trials.

Motivated by my family's journey through Alzheimer's, I vowed to return to the senior care community as an owner. My vision is to create the highest quality standards of care in a nurturing environment characterized by love, empathy, and compassion, ensuring that our seniors live their golden years in comfort and dignity. I am deeply committed to providing the same level of care to our seniors that I would extend to my own family, creating a home-like atmosphere that fosters joy and fulfillment, regardless of their challenges.

With great enthusiasm, I am thrilled to announce that my family and I feel both blessed and honored to have realized my commitment to offering the highest level of support and care to seniors, their families, and our community through the establishment of MoMo C's Residential Assisted Living.
